Concerning Hobbits

Concerning Hobbits was designed and knit during the Thanksgiving weekend while watching the Lord of the Rings and then The Hobbit movie trilogies. I bound off the body during The Return of The King, and finished during The Battle of Five Armies. It is a top-down, raglan sleeve cardigan with an easily memorized lace edging at the cuffs, collar, and bottom edge; the only finishing is weaving in ends. It’s a very quick knit, using bulky yarn, and has optional waist shaping.

Finished Size:

Chest 32(36, 40, 44, 48, 52) inches, sleeve circumference 12.75(13.75, 14.5, 16.25, 17, 17.75) inches.

Length 14(14.5, 15, 16, 16.5, 17) inches from underarm to hem.

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Super Traveler, 100% Superwash merino wool, 107 yards/4 oz. 5(6, 7, 8, 10, 11). Sample worked in Winter Woods.

Needles: US #10/6.00mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer; dpns or circs to kinit small circumferences in the round.

Gauge: 12 stitches/16 rows per 4” in stockinette stitch, worked flat and in the round.
