I designed these little Baby Booties with Classic traditional Aran knitting in mind - I used to be an aran knitter in Ireland many years ago - Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone - hoping to shed the luck of the Irish with these little cuties!
I designed the booties with double turn-down cuffs for comfort, luxury and security - they're darn difficult to kick off!
The pattern is a fully illustrated tutorial with colour photos to show you each stage from start to finish. As such it is suitable for improving beginners keen to try out their basic cabling. The booties are knitted flat on regular, straight needles. They are made in one piece so there is minimal sewing - just a back seam and a short seam at the back of the heel.
Basic stitches are knit and purl, and simple cabling.
The pattern is written for 2 sizes - 0-6 months and 6-12 months.
American English Knitting terms used throughout and everything is explained in plain English.
