Product Description
Brioche Lane Sweater is an oversized garment designed to fit with 8-15 in (20-38 cm) of positive ease at the bust and 1.25-2 in (3-5 cm) of positive ease at the upper arm.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from top down. First some short rows are worked back and forth to raise the back neck. Then the yoke with brioche pattern on front is worked in rounds to separation point for body and sleeves. The lower body is worked in rounds to bottom. Sleeves are worked top down to the cuffs. The length of the body and sleeves is easily adjustable.
The pattern was thoroughly tested and professionally tech edited by Carol Ibbetson.

Brioche Lane Sweater by LillaBjörnCrochet
What is Being Made
The Brioche Lane Sweater is an original crochet design by LillaBjörnCrochet (designer Tatsiana Kupryianchyk). This is a downloadable PDF crochet pattern for creating a finished sweater or jumper garment. The pattern offers multiple size options, ranging from x7 through x11, allowing customization for different body measurements and fit preferences.
Craft and Primary Technique
This is a crochet project classified as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for crocheters with some foundational experience beyond complete beginners. The pattern uses UK crochet terminology and abbreviations throughout, which is important for crafters to note when following instructions.
Stitches and Crochet Techniques
The Brioche Lane Sweater pattern employs fundamental crochet stitches as its building blocks. The pattern abbreviations indicate the use of chain stitch (ch), which is the foundational stitch in crochet work. The pattern notation system references beginning of row/round (BOR) and beginning (beg) markers, suggesting the sweater is constructed using row-based or round-based crochet methods. The multiple size options (x7, x8, x9, x10, x11) are integrated throughout the pattern instructions, allowing crafters to select their desired finished dimensions.
Materials and Yarn Specifications
The Brioche Lane Sweater pattern calls for Bamboo Soft yarn by Scheepjes, a 4-ply weight yarn composed of 50% Manufactured Fibers (Rayon from Bamboo) and 50% Cotton. This blend creates a soft, breathable fabric suitable for wearable garments. Each ball provides 50 grams (1.76 ounces) with approximately 150 meters (164 yards) of yardage per ball.
The pattern specifies two colorways:
- Yarn A: 263 Smoky Diamond
- Yarn B: 260 Golden Nugget
These two colors are used in combination throughout the sweater design, creating visual interest and color blocking in the finished garment.
