Product Description

Beaufort 5 is worked seamlessly from the top down. Both the back and the front are worked in texture pattern. Knitting starts with the cast on of the shoulders for the back. Once the short row shaped shoulder slope is done, the back is worked flat to underarm. Shoulder stitches are picked up to work the front to the same length. At underarm both fronts and back are joined to work the body top down back and forth to the bottom hem. An I-Cord edging is worked next. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the arm openings to work the sleeves in plain Stockinette stitch top down in rounds to the cuffs.

Gauge: 21 sts x 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) square in Stockinette stitch on larger needle after blocking. 22 sts x 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) square in texture pattern on larger needle after blocking. Suggested ease: 8 - 10" (20.5 - 25.5 cm)

Original yarn: Lavivendole a pure and simple wool - suggested substitution below.

Approx: 962 (1032, 1114, 1205, 1264)(1407, 1472, 1549, 1654) m

Awesome pattern!

Isabell Kraemer writes detailed patterns that are easy to understand. The stitch pattern in this is really lovely and fun to do. The video tutorial is well worth watching to find out how. I’m familiar with short rows but hadn’t tried German short rows until now. Again, the video link shows you what to do. So easy! I love how thorough her patterns are!
