Basic Knit Flat Beanie

This is my next foray into designing winter headwear and is the second beanie or toque pattern I've designed. I have plans to add additional motifs to my touques but I needed to design the basic hat before I went into further, more complicated designs.

But to the pattern itself…

The pattern uses worsted weight yarn and size 5 mm (size 8 US) single pointed knitting needles. It’s knit flat on straight knitting needles. You can either use self-striping yarn like I did with the blue one, variegated yarn like the pink/blue beanie or use different solid shades of yarn to make this toque. All yarn seems to work well with this design.
