The beauty of the Bacton shawl is found in its apparent contradictions - it is somehow both modern and timeless, it combines crisp lines and sharp angles with squishy texture, and is sturdy enough to stand up to the bracing wind without losing any of its drape. Plus, with its slightly unusual mirrored short row construction, it offers something a little new and interesting to the more experienced shawl knitter whilst remaining entirely beginner friendly.

Sample shawl was made with Baa Ram Ewe Dovestone DK, but this yarn has since been discontinued. Suggested yarn below would be a suitable alternative.
