This product is literally just the graphgan as seen in the image .... it prints in sections which I then trimmed and stuck together. There is no detail about how much yarn is required, needle size or yard suggestion, stitch information or suggestion about how big the blanket might be once finished ... all of this came as a bit of a surprise to me not having worked from a graphgan pattern before. I have since done various samples, counted all the squares and tried to work out how much DK cotton...

Baby Cheetah Stitch Graphgan
What Is Being Made
The Baby Cheetah Stitch Graphgan is a crochet graphgan project designed by Creating Works Of Love. This is a graphgan—a crochet blanket or throw created by following a pixel-based chart pattern—featuring a baby cheetah design. The finished dimensions are 104 x 102 stitches, making it a substantial project suitable for creating a decorative blanket or throw piece.
Craft and Technique
This project uses crochet as its primary construction method. Graphgans are worked by following a visual chart where each square represents a single stitch, allowing crafters to create detailed pictorial designs. The technique involves working in rows, typically using single crochet or half double crochet stitches, and changing yarn colors according to the chart to build the image. This method is ideal for creating blankets with intricate patterns and realistic imagery.
The graphgan format makes this project accessible to crocheters of various skill levels, as the pattern is straightforward to follow once you understand the basic concept of reading a chart and executing color changes.
Stitches Used
While specific stitch details are not provided in the pattern documentation, graphgans typically employ fundamental crochet stitches such as:
- Single crochet (SC)
- Half double crochet (HDC)
- Color changes and yarn management techniques
Materials and Yarn
The Baby Cheetah Stitch Graphgan is compatible with multiple yarn weights, offering flexibility for crafters with different yarn preferences. Recommended yarn weights include:
- Aran weight
- DK weight
- Sport weight
- Worsted weight
The choice of yarn weight will affect the final size and drape of the finished blanket. Lighter weights (sport and DK) will produce a more delicate, lighter blanket, while heavier weights (aran and worsted) will create a thicker, warmer finished piece. You will need an appropriate crochet hook sized to match your chosen yarn weight, along with multiple yarn colors to recreate the baby cheetah design according to the provided chart.
Difficulty Level
This project is rated as beginner friendly, making it an excellent choice for those new to crochet or graphgan projects. The straightforward chart-following method and basic stitch requirements mean that even novice crocheters can successfully complete this blanket with patience and attention to the pattern.
Format
The Baby Cheetah Stitch Graphgan is provided as a downloadable PDF, allowing you to access the pattern immediately and print it for convenient reference while working on your project.
