Baby blanket "Waves"

A two-tone baby blanket that's pretty simple to make, and gives a lovely effect with its contrasting waves and double crochet cross areas. The stitches used are chain, slip stitch, double crochet, single crochet, half double crochet, 1-over-1 double crochet cross (the latter are explained in diagram and text). The blanket is made of cotton, but it could also be made of wool, ideally with finer hooks.
