The lonely Princess of the skies was isolated traveling among heavens when she became smitten with a man playing music under a great tree. Their chance encounter bloomed into love, a forbidden love. When the gods discovered their love , Vega and Altair were dragged away and placed far apart in the stars separated by the Heavens. She vowed that one day they would be together again, and with a cruel twist of fate her promise came true. Even though the Great Celestial River (The Milky Way) lay between them, it is said that once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month a bridge of magpies form allowing the lovers just one day together.
