Michele - Sew Atelier M

Born in Nottingham in the U.K. I now live between the Monmouthshire countryside and Marrakech, Morocco. I have a background in textile design, studying at Nottingham and Manchester art schools. I was taught to crochet, knit and sew as a child by a surrogate aunt. My grandmother also loved to embroider, and so I was surrounded and influenced by women who loved textiles as a child. After a long break, I found myself in lockdown for two years in Morocco, with time to rediscover and indulge in my old passions. Since lockdown ended, although I have less time, my interest has not subsided. I love to sew vintage sewing patterns as well as contemporary, my taste is wide-ranging. I have recently re-acquainted myself with knitting, and I am just loving it! I learned to crochet when I was seven, but have not yet returned to this craft, but it is however on my list.
