Other colours needed are small amounts in black and yellow for beaks and eyes, grey for division of feathers and dark blue for the narrow patch of water below the swans.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe gloves could be knitted in any 4ply weight wool, cashmere or cotton.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe motifs are knitted using the intarsia method, but the mitts could be knitted in plain stocking stitch and the pattern added afterwards using duplicate stitch\/Swiss darning.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pattern comprises of charts for both left and right mitt, using symbols to show the swan design, together with typed knitting instructions.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe approximate measurements for the mitts are: 8.5cm\/3.25” wide (unstretched and not counting the thumb), 13cm\/5” long from top of rib to cast-off edge and 2.5cm\/1” long rib.
