Once the twisted rib edge has been knitted the main pattern of 3 colour tweed stitch combined with short rows which turn the rib into a mitred edge that travels up the side edges of the mitten. Once this is complete the work is transferred onto dpns then worked in rounds of the tweed stitch throughout.
