Increases are placed on every row at each edge and on every third row on each side of the garter-stitch center spine. Stockinette stitch and lace in the main color and sections of garter stitch and eyelets in the contrasting color alternate throughout the body of the shawl. A lace border with a picot bind-off finishes off the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pattern is written with both metric and US terminology.
