The knitted fabric is very convoluted, and needs to be blocked vigorously to lay flat. Superwash yarns don’t block to that extent. The yarn also should not split on your needles, and be evenly spun (don’t use tweeds, I’ve tried!). Also don’t mix yarn of different thickness. The needles: stainless steel circulars, with sharp tips.
