The photos show the large size – the medium size has slightly narrower stripes to make it shorter. 8 ply \/ DK yarn is used DOUBLE on 4 mm needles to make the fabric stiffer, so the lighthouse has \"structure\" (wouldn't want it falling down in a gale). There is a tiny bit of simple crochet involved to make the railing around the top ledge – if you can't crochet you can just leave the railing off.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOptional extra: I put a flashing LED ball inside the front of the light section – if you knock it, it flashes red and blue! These balls can be found inside little rubbery toy animals in \"cheapie\" shops.
