The stocking is knit in the round and from the cuff down through most of the foot. Then the piece is worked flat and shaped by binding off stitches and then sewn together.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDuplicate Stitch and simple embroidery may be used to embellish or highlight any motif you like.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis pattern contains complex colourwork charts and is intended for knitters comfortable using charts and with experience working colourwork flat.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI have also included a small note about working short rows, in place of binding off, to shape the foot.
