Welcome to the Sandy Floss Shawl!
Knit to your own gauge and use as many skeins as you wish!
The best way to get the most out of your 4ply yarn is to weigh it before you begin. Then when you have used half of your yarn less approx 5g you can go on to do the central and decrease panels. This way means you could actually use more than 100g for a bigger cuddlier shawl if you wish! And no “yarn chicken” necessary!
My gauge is not important for the size of this pattern but I have provided the numbers below for those of you who prefer to use them.
22 sts x 33 rows 10cm x 10cm 4”x4” square in garter stitch (blocked) worked on 3.75 mm (US Size 5) needles, or size needed to obtain the correct gauge.
What yarn to use? 100g of a soft fingering/sock yarn of similar yardage to what I used in my samples. You can use more if you wish! (See Gauge above for more information on using more yarn).
