Product Details
I set out on a journey when designing this blanket. I had an image in my head of exactly how I wanted it to look and I was not going to rest until I had achieved that image. And I am so pleased to say that this is exactly how I had envisaged it to be! The blanket design is inspired by my youngest star. He is in love with all things rainbow and stars at the moment - hence the colours and design.
I made the blanket in the photos using Stylecraft Special DK but it works equally as well in any weight yarn providing the same is used throughout.
I would suggest that this pattern is for crocheters with intermediate skills. The pattern provides both a UK terminology version followed by a US terminology version and includes the use of sc, dc, hdc, htr, tr, dtr, ttr, ch and slip stitch.
The pattern includes many photos for any tricky parts but it is not a step by step photo tutorial, it is a written pattern and not a chart.

I have not yet finished this project - I have the base stars made, now on to making the stars into blocks! So far the directions have been easy to follow. I am using a 4.25 hook, and Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn. I chose to use the magic circle to start the stars - it gave a more consistent look than the method described by the pattern author AND I was able to keep a small opening in each star, as described by the author. So far, so good - will post pics when the project is finished!
Annoying and too complicated for what it is.
