Australia is home to some utterly fascinating and fun animals!
There are eight beautiful animals included in this pattern: the wombat, koala, crocodile, platypus, Tasmanian devil, the rock wallaby, the dingo and the fairy penguin. As a bonus there’s a set of three parrots.
These animals make fun hanging ornaments, such as a crib mobile.
Each animal is a small project, knitted on 1.25 mm double pointed needles (UK 18, US 0000) in Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat. All can be done in heavier yarn, on thicker needles and the animals will turn out somewhat larger.
These critters are a great project to use up any scraps you have lying around.
These animals are medium difficult, knitted flat with some short rows, i-cords, intarsia color work, stitching and embroidering.
Stitching together, stuffing and kneading the animals into shape can be a little fiddly and takes a bit of time and patience, but the end result will be worth it!
