The Hundred Acre Blanket is my take on the classic mitred square design. Each square is added as you work with NO SEAMING required. There are lots of mitred square patterns around these days, so my aim with this was to create something a little different.
The blanket is worked in vertical strips, moving from right to left. This method of working means that you create a zigzag pattern with the decrease lines. I had never seen this before and the idea came entirely from my own creativity.
I have also designed a border that has the look of an I-Cord border but is much quicker and less fussy to work.
The pattern contains 9 video tutorials showing all aspects of the knitting, plus a schematic to show the construction method.
The blanket is knitted using fingering weight yarn. I used lots of leftovers and mini skeins, the more colours the better! The size of blanket you make is entirely up to you.
