I did try to knit this pattern in the round as written, but it seemed very complicated, and I am not accustomed to knitting in the round, so I gave up and re-adjusted the instructions to knit on two needles. The result looked very similar, but with a seam up the back, and legs, wings, etc. sewn on afterwards.
