Product Details
The Fiona Jumper is inspired by my Fiona Cardigan, a Purl &Jane classic that has been loved and knitted by so many. The Fiona Jumper has been the first garment project for many beginners, and it’s been wonderful to see them grow in confidence and move on to new challenges. But time and again, they come back to the Fiona Jumper as a comfort knit, something simple yet satisfying to make.
I’ve seen this jumper knitted in a variety of natural fibres and colours, each one bringing a fresh take on the design. It’s always exciting to see how knitters make it their own.
CONSTRUCTION
The back, front and two sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up in separate pieces and joined together. The sleeves are set in. The neck edge is picked up and knitted.
TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, decreasing at the armhole and neck shaping, cast off. Optional: mattress stitch and three needle cast off.
