Product Details
Designed to complement my Big Knitting beanie, this chunky and luxurious pompom is a great stashbuster and will last for ages because of its sturdy construction. It’s made to be removable and swappable, so you can share it around your beanie collection - which makes the time spent on making it worthwhile.
Uses approx 100yd of DK 8ply merino, wool, etc. You can make it all in one colour or use up some leftovers and feel good about zero waste!
You don’t use a pompom maker or a cardboard template to make this one. You will need a 3.5mm circular knitting needle or 2 double point needles. (Or an icord maker.) You will also need a tapestry needle, a 1.5cm flat button, and a 50cm length of strong fine cord. I used 1mm round cotton cord; it’s important that it’s very strong and will handle being tied, pulled, and untied, without fraying or snapping.
Size of the sample is 6 inches across but can be made smaller if necessary.
