Did you know that Portugal was the first country in the world to receive the Unesco-Starlight Tourist Destinations Certification?The nature reserve Serra da Arrábida in the south of Lisbon offers great conditions for stargazers which I can attest to from personal experience. Stargazing websites report that you can see all the planets in our solar system there. A good reason to dedicate a knitting project to the fantastic night sky. As a motif, I chose the zodiac sign Aquarius. It appears close to the horizon on summer nights and seemed the most fitting for the nation of nautical explorers that is Portugal. For the project I chose midnight blue and shimmering silver yarn with a metallic touch so that the cushion cover has a slight sheen to it.
