Need an instant-gratification project? A last-minute baby shower present? These adorable and cozy elf-like baby booties are super easy to knit, as they are worked flat from the sole to the cuff -- they require only a small amount of seaming. In addition to the main design, meant to be a companion to the Red Riding Coat, instructions for the 2 simple variations shown in the pictures are also included.
The booties are knit flat from the sole to the cuff with just one small seam at the back. Two variations are suggested, which are knit identically to the main bootie until indicated, but many more are possible! Let your creativity run wild!
Skills Required: long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, yarn over, bind off.
GAUGE: 14 sts x 20 rows = 4 inches or 10 cm in stockinette stitch
YARN REQUIREMENTS: For all sizes: depending on the bootie type and size, approximately 25-70 yards/meters of chunky or heavy worsted weight yarn
