How to work a triple treble crochet stitch (ttr)

Learn how to crochet the triple treble (ttr) stitch, also known as the double treble in the US, by following these simple steps.

The UK triple treble is a tall and open stitch excellent for lace and fine yarn projects.

Step by step

  1. Yarn over hook three times.
  2. Insert your crochet hook into the next stitch.
  3. Yarn over, pull yarn through stitch.You should now have 5 loops on your crochet hook.
  4. Yarn over, pull yarn through 2 loops. You should now have 4 loops on your crochet hook.
  5. Yarn over, pull yarn through 2 loops. You should now have 3 loops on your crochet hook.
  6. Yarn over, pull yarn through 2 loops. You should now have 2 loops on your crochet hook.
  7. Yarn over, pull yarn through last 2 loops.
