Produktdetails
I live in a very warm climate. That means I rarely wear socks of any kind, much less handknit socks, which is such a pity! All that loveliness and hard work… But I always wear socks when I workout. So I decided to design socks to knit specifically for that purpose. Now I can enjoy handknit socks that better suit my lifestyle. (These make great casual ankle socks, too.)
Since athletic socks need to fit snugly and breath well, I was thrilled to discover new-to-me yarns with cotton and elastic, Hikoo CoBaSi and Universal Yarn Panda Cotton. The stretch in these yarns creates a fabric that really hugs your foot.
I designed this pattern with groups of short rows in strategic places and a slipped stitch instep to assist in hugging the curves of the foot. It’s a toe-up only pattern for now, but leaves room for other knitter preferences, such as short row heels and choice of using DPNs, magic loop, etc…
