Soft yarn, but frustrating to work with
I got 10 balls to make a sweater. I like the softness of it. The 2 star rating is for all the knots, and a little for the lint that falls as I knit, but mostly the knots. Out of the 10, 7 (SEVEN!) balls have a knot. After the 3rd, I re-wind the remaining balls so I can find all the knots to plan accordingly, so I don't have a knot, i.e., run out of yarn, mid-bind off. In the process, I weighed the yarn and found that they only weighed 45-47g. I hope they're packaged by length because yarn...
Dear Sandy, we’re really sorry to hear that you encountered knots in your yarn. While knots can occur during manufacturing, up to 3 knots per ball is generally considered within the industry tolerance, but we understand how frustrating this must have been. As for the weight, some variation is normal, and up to around 10% is generally considered acceptable, so the 45–47g you measured is within the expected range for a 50g ball.
