Product Description
A quick knit, stashbuster that makes a fun and attractive way to deliver a gift card for a special Valentine. Use it later as a sachet, reward card case, etc.
A great project for using up bits and pieces of stash yarns, requiring only about 50 yards of each of the two main colors, and a very small bit of the contrasting color for the (optional) appliqued heart on the back. The heart may be "stuffed" with a small amount of fiber fill if a three-dimensional look is desired. Optional holiday-themed buttons are decorative embellishments only (no buttonholes).
The pattern is written for worsted-weight yarn, but can easily be adjusted for a different weight and gauge. The pattern stitch can be worked over any odd number of stitches.
As shown the gift card keeper measures 6" in width by 5" in height -- large enough to accommodate the hanging tags that hold gift cards in grocery and other stores.
The pattern stitch requires knit and slipped stitches.
