This pillow cover was commissioned last year by Sara Huntington, Commissioning Editor for Simply Crochet magazine.
The written pattern and some lovely pictures were published for the first time on issue 76 of Simply Crochet as part of the Designer Challenge “Hook to Hook” with a Halloween theme.
The inspiration for my cushion came from my childhood, the beginning of which was spent in Calgary, Canada. My mum made simple ghost costumes for my twin sister and I from white sheets to disguise our heavy winter clothes! We filled plastic buckets shaped as pumpkin heads with our trick or treat candies.
I wanted to fix those memories in a simple design, but bright and bold enough to make you smile : my Halloween has never been scary, but filled with fun!
