Ship Ahoy is special baby blanket knitted in DK weight yarn.
The interesting to work pattern looks like little sail boats and the blanket would be just as pretty in a coloured yarn as it does in white.
This patterns is suitable for intermediate knitters as well as more experienced beginner knitters. The pattern includes techniques such as knit, purl, directional decreases (k2tog, ssk), a central decrease (cdd) and yarn overs. How to work these stitches is explained fully in the abbreviations.
The pattern is written for two sizes of blanket, a smaller 71 x 81 cm / 28 x 32 inches and a larger 86 x 96.5 cm / 34 x 38 inches.
The pattern is charted as well as written so you can work from whichever you prefer and I have put each onto a page of their own for ease of use.
Any DK weight baby yarn is suitable.
