Scrappy Stripes

Scrappy Stripes are fingerless mittens that are knit starting from the thumb. The garter stitch hand is worked around the thumb, forming a striped square. When it reaches the desired width, the square is folded and its two sides are joined on the bind-off row.

The mittens are a perfect way to use small amounts of yarn left over from other projects: I used tiny balls of Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply and Tarte I had collected after several projects.
