When I first thought about designing this shawl, a picture of a lotus with different colored layers formed in my mind. After some research, I found a Lotus Mandala picture. I knew instantly that I had to make something like that into this shawl. I have always been drawn to Yoga. So, Sahasrara is such an apt name for this shawl.
The Sahasrara is described as a lotus flower with 1,000 petals of different colors. So if you use a different color for each of the parts mentioned in the pattern, the shawl will look awesome. But it is totally optional. Whether you use one color, a variegated yarn or more than one color for this shawl, it is definitely going to make you stand out in the crowd.
