Back in spring, I sat under a blooming magnolia tree. The elongated, pear-shaped flowers were amazingly abundant and quite fascinating in their form and colors. Inspired by the shape, I created the Pyrus, a half-circular shawl. A lace pattern with a pear-shaped form, opening and closing, takes center stage. It is completed by open lace sections in the inner parts of the circle and a lace edging reminiscent of petals opening to the skies. The Pyrus shawl is perfect for some precious hand-dyed skeins that will complement the lace pattern to its best with their subtle color variations. Being worked in DK-weight, the shawl knits quickly and will keep your shoulders warm in style during the cold season.
