This festive Post Box Stocking is very quick to knit in one easy piece and can be made in two different sizes following the one basic pattern. Straight needles and leftover oddments of DK yarn are all you need.
The smaller stocking will lay flat inside a Christmas card and contain a folded cheque or money note and can be posted to the recipient as a fun gift. The larger stocking is perfect for hanging on the Christmas tree and holding a small wrapped gift or chocolate novelty. They make fabulous party favour bags too!
* Stocking Stitch
* Garter Stitch
* Worked Flat
* 4mm or 5mm Single-pointed Needles, depending on the size of stocking you wish to make;
10cm x 5cm – Use 4mm needles.
13cm x 7cm – Use 5mm needles and double strands of DK yarn.
