This is a square shaped cushion. The cushion front is made up of four log cabin squares. Each of the four squares are knitted individually and then sewn together, before picking up stitches all around the outside to knit the front edging. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the bottom and top edges of the cushion front to knit the base and top pieces of the cushion back.
Casting on the red square in the centre requires using the backwards loop cast on method.
Instructions for this cushion are in written format (no charts). A colour photograph has been provided at each stage in the construction of the log cabin square to show how the square should look and a template has been provided too.
The log cabin squares within this cushion are smaller than the squares in my blanket, but just as straight forward to knit.
