Hinged hat is a slouchy beanie worked in the round from the brim and up. Set against reverse stocking stitch, the twisted rib of the hinged lozenges call back to the twisted stitches found in the brim. The hat is casual and fun with a gently gathered crown. The pattern is knitted in Malabrigo Worsted, a soft singles yarn which really make the twisted stitches pop.
Difficulty Intermediate - knitting in the round, knit, purl, simple decreases and increases, and finishing.
To Fit Head circumference 18 (20, 22, 24) in / 45.5 (51, 56, 61) cm, shown in size 22 in / 56 cm.
Finished Brim Circumference 16 (17 ¾, 19 ½, 21 ¼) in / 40.5 (45, 49.5, 54) cm.
Yarn 1 skein of Malabrigo Worsted (100% Pure Merino Wool, 100g / 210 yds / 189 m) #74 Polvoriento. Substitute with approximately 105 (110, 125, 135) yds / 95 (100, 110, 120) m of Worsted weight yarn with the following knitting gauge.
