Mitts form a set with Happy Birthday Hat. Both worsted weight yarn patterns.
A pair of mitts finished just the day of my Mom’s birthday and thus the pictures feature her birthday bouquet as well. I chose a very sunny yellow yarn with the intention of brightening up the last weeks of wearing my dark winter coat. It’s easier to change the accessories than the garment, isn’t it - especially when it’s almost the end of the season and soon a completely new outfit will be in use.
Happy Birthday mitts are a very fast and enjoyable project which can be completed in one day or two evenings. The mitts are fun to wear and they make wonderful gifts!
Mitts come in 3 sizes. The length can be modified by adding or deleting some rounds in stockinette.
Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The mitts are knit in the round. The pattern uses basic knit and purl stitches, as well as K3in1 and cluster stitch in the border (photo tutorial included).
