First, the Medallion is worked in the round from the center out. Then the main fabric of the shawl is worked flat in 4 sections, coming out from the sides of the Medallion.
The samples were knit in Galler Yarns Prime Alpaca and Shibui Knits Baby Alpaca DK. A substitute yarn is shown below.
