Product Description
These are fairly quick to make if you’re somewhat of an experienced knitter. Don’t know how to knit in the round on double pointed needles (dpn)? You can learn now! I made a step-by-step video on YouTube showing every single round! The pattern includes links to the FREE video.
A few quick words on sizing. Instead of going through all the effort to remake the pattern for different sizes, and to keep the proportion of the knitted owls the same, I’ve gone about adjusting the sizing by changing the size of your knitting needles.
There is a free, ad supported version of this pattern avaialble on my website. Search for KweenBee online or click the link in my profile (click on my face) beneath the social media icons.
Fingerless Gloves with Owls – Knitting Pattern
What Is Being Made
This downloadable PDF pattern by designer Janis Frank provides instructions for creating fingerless gloves, also known as fingerless mittens, featuring an owl motif. The gloves are designed as a relatively quick project for experienced knitters, offering both functionality and decorative appeal with their distinctive owl design element.
Craft and Technique Overview
This is a knitting project worked in the round using traditional circular knitting methods. The pattern utilizes double-pointed needles for constructing the gloves, a fundamental technique for creating seamless tubular garments. Knitting in the round eliminates the need for seaming and creates a polished, professional finish on wearable items.
Stitches and Construction Details
While the complete stitch list is not fully detailed in the provided content, the pattern incorporates knit stitches as the primary construction method. The owl motif is integrated into the design, suggesting the use of colorwork or textured stitch patterns to create the decorative owl elements on the fingerless gloves.
Difficulty Level and Skill Requirements
This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for knitters with some experience. The project moves relatively quickly for experienced knitters who are already comfortable working with double-pointed needles and knitting in the round.
Materials Required
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn
- Needles: Double-pointed needles (appropriate size for worsted weight yarn)
Additional Features
