This is a cowl or mini shawl, knit from Artesano Superchunky yarn. The leafy lace edging is knit first on ten mm needles and cast off. Then the rest of the mini shawl is made by picking up and knitting along the lace border and knitting in garter stitch, decreasing to create the mini shawlâs horse shoe shape. It is held closed with a shawl pin. Its modelled here by my 8 year old, and looks cute as a shawl. On an adult it is more of a cosy cowl.
*note in row 14 of the leafy edge, cast off the p2tog and the next two stitches ( 3 bound off in total)
I amended the pattern on my blog, the lone leaf written instructions were wrong. It should have read (and now does) purl all EVEN rows not odd!
Also on Row 5 should be to k4 not k5 thanks louisagrubb
