Dragon Lace Pullover

NOTES:
1) ERRATA: The symbol for "purl on RS/knit on WS" (a dot inside stitch box) was omitted from chart key. This error has been corrected on patterns purchased on or after 6/6/13.
2) First photo shows earlier version of lace dragon; 2nd and 4th photos show final version (tail has been lengthened to better balance head and neck).

Years ago, when I first came across the “Leaning Ladder” stitch pattern in Barbara Walker’s “A Fourth Treasury of Knitting Patterns,” I thought that the undulating lace column looked like the body of a dragon. So in early 2012, the Chinese Year of the Dragon, I decided to create a design incorporating a lace dragon, adding lace limbs, claws, head and tail to the “Leaning Ladder” pattern. I kept the rest of this hip-length pullover simple and classic, with set-in ¾-length sleeves, moderate waist shaping, V-neckline, I-cord trim at neck and cuffs, and turned hem.
