Yarn: I used 1 skein of DK weight yarn 248 yards / 226 m per skein. There was left over yarn so you may be able to use a smaller skein like Malabrigo Dos Tierras. You can use most DK weight yarns for this design.
BUTTONS: Need 4 buttons (3 for the outside of the scarf and 1 for the inside). Use a 7/8 inch or 22 mm buttons or 11/16 inch or 18 mm button. Both sizes with work.
