A simple elegant triangle shawl designed to reflect the chakra system with colour coded tapestry and surface crochet elements.
This is a relatively simple pattern, mostly using single crochet (UK double crochet) and chains throughout. It is suitable for beginners looking to try a new technique or two.
You will need to know basic crochet stitches and terminology, and the pattern requires colour changes within a row (tapestry crochet), surface crochet (slip stitching across the fabric, although this can be left out) and gentle blocking.
The pattern is written in in English using US crochet terms. It includes a chart for the colourwork and a schematic to aid with visualising the construction.
The shawl used a 4.5mm hook with 300g / 900m of Scheepjes Bamboo Soft for the main colour and around 15m / 5g in each of 7 contrasting colours (a great stash buster!).
