What is Being Made

Cacophony is a custom-fitted knit sock pattern designed by Kjosen Day and published on Ravelry in December 2018. This pattern creates a pair of socks sized to approximately Men's US 10, with the designer having tailored the fit to her own feet. The pattern includes separate Left and Right foot versions to accommodate asymmetrical shaping, particularly in the toe area. The finished leg length can be customized up to approximately 15.5 inches unworn, which translates to about 11.5 inches when worn on the leg.

Techniques Used

The Cacophony sock pattern employs several advanced knitting techniques that elevate it beyond basic sock construction. The most distinctive technique is the use of German short rows for the heel, which are worked across most of the stitches rather than just the traditional back half.
