Adorable bear-ears hat with earflaps for babies and toddlers in DK weight yarn!
The earflaps will keep their ears covered. Handy ties will keep a hat nicely in place and prevent babies from taking it off. It is a fun little project and makes a lovely gift for a new baby!
Instructions for this hat are written for both, working in the round and flat. You can choose which option is best for you.
The hat started working in garter stitch bottom up with earflaps worked as short rows. Then work is continued in garter st until the desired length of the hat is completed. Decreases are worked. I-Cord ties and bear ears are completed after the hat is finished.
Difficulty level: Beginner / Intermediate. Knowledge and comfort with the following techniques are recommended: Short Rows, Decreasing, and, if you choose to make a hat in the round, knitting in the round. The price shown is for a PDF knitting pattern and not for a finished item.
