Abigail Adams Afghan Square

**Abigail Smith Adams (**November 11, 1744 – October 28, 1818) was born at Weymouth, Massachusetts. She married Harvard graduate, John Adams on October 5, 1764. She was the first woman to serve as Second Lady of the United States and the second woman to serve as First Lady. She had 5 children – one who died in infancy, and was the mother of the sixth President, John Quincy Adams. She was the first First Lady to live in the White House.
