Three contrasting narrow stripes are fun to work in a color-changing yarn. Or use a solid contrast color for a more graphic statement with this simply classic beanie or slouchy hat.
The hats are crocheted from the top down in joined rounds. Sizes are XS, S, M, L and XL, with the XS size suitable for a child. Separate hat lengths -- for both the beanie and the slouchy -- are given for the child size and the adult sizes.
The hats have 5 cm of negative ease.
The pattern is written and uses U.S. crochet terms. It also includes a one-page photo tutorial on how to change colors when joining rounds, as well as links to my website for other tutorials and a stitch dictionary.
