Sadly I didn’t manage to finish Rowan the Reindeer in time for him to accompany Santa this year. However he will be ready in good time for next year! I used wools from my stash and made a few adaptations to the original design, making him a shelf sitter rather than a standing figure. I also used a different pattern for his antlers in crochet which worked better for the wool I had, and like, Denise C I added pompoms to his scarf.

How adorable is that! I need to make this.
Thanks Christine. He’s a very easy make for when you need a break from more tricky creations.
It's never too late for a reindeer. You've made a fantastic job of him. I have this pattern and two Christmases have passed and I've still not made it. Maybe I should do what you have and make it after the rush has gone.
Oh your Rowan is fantastic Helen, beautifully made and I like him as a shelf sitter. You must be so happy how he has turned out and I love that wee face so cheeky.😊
Thanks for your comment Catherine. I think it was his boots which I liked best but as with all these characters they seem to take on their own personalities as you make them up and I have become quite fond of this reindeer!
Aww I love your reindeer, he is so sweet sitting on the windowsill just chillin out. I especially like his cosy wee booties 💚
He’s fabulous 💕 The additions are perfect 🥰 Roll on next Christmas 🎄
Love your reindeer, Helen! He's gorgeous. Such a cute face, fabulous boots and a perfect red nose! 😁
Your reindeer looks fabulous Helen. He looks great as a sitter! I love his little hat. I made the hat for mine but try as I did I could not get it to look right so it ended up in the bottom of my knitting bag but you have got it just right. I will definitely be knitting Rowan as a sitter sometime before next Christmas!
Gosh your adaptations are brilliant Helen, he’s fabulous, I love shelf sitters! He’ll be great for next Christmas but if I were you I’d leave him up for a while!
