This was my first attempt at a teddy bear, although I have made other knitted toys. I used yarn from my stash. I am pretty pleased with the result. The pattern was not particularly difficult, although the pick up and knit stitches in the head were a challenge. I found that the directions for putting all the pieces together could have been clearer, but I figured some parts out on my own from previous experience. I did not add the scarf called for in the pattern as this toy is for an infant, but to make it a bit more interesting, I added the sweater detail (it is not a separate item). The colours are meant to represent the Canadian flag - - a nod to some of the roots in the baby's family tree.
